Went to a chilli fiesta last Sunday with Lottie, Zoe, Charlie and young Oscar which as you can imagine was like some sort of nirvana for me. Was slightly spun out by the fact that Sirius B were playing there also.

Had an interesting couple of days in Paris this week and got to see some early footage of the new King Kong movie. Also got driven up the wall by digital technology such as the Yamaha DM2000 desk which appafrently doesn't like me and refused to do anything when I operated it but responded to the touch of Alex only. Strange....

Thanks to everyone for the fab birthday prezzies and for coming out on Saturday night. Had a lovely time on Friday seeing the magnificent Kasabian at the Brighton Centre and had a very nice BBQ on the Sunday with Charlie, Zoe and baby Oscar.

....not to work this time but to see the brilliant Finn Brothers in concert. The most fantastic night of close harmonies and sweet melodies with killer chord progressions.

However, the night was touched with a note of sadness due to the untimely death of Paul Hester the former drummer of Crowded House. Highlight of the evening must have been when former CH bassist Nick Seymore joined them on stage for a heart rending version of "You better be Home Soon".

Superb support from the fantasic Bic Runga.

....is a lovely little place for a snowboarding holiday and I can highly recommend it! It has a glacier, some great off piste action and fantastic areas for beginners. It also has lots of schnapps, Jagermeister, pilsner, goulash, spotty meat and cheese and other stuff that's cool.

We met some really cool people including our new friends Tim and Judith the Dutch folk (see below), Lottie finally got the hang of this whole snowboarding lark, Fabi won a medal and I damaged my leg. Pommie Dave was right about how much speed you can get coming down off the glacier but he never mentioned how much it hurts if you take a tumble at that speed. Ouch!

Apart from the injury the holiday was good with loads of snow, loads of sunshine loads of beer and the new board is very nice too (and very fast!)...............

That's Wales of course. Had a very enjoyable day seeing Cosmo again despite the fact that he forced me to play a gig with him doing songs I hadn't played for ten years. All good fun though. This trip also saw the return of my other Marshall amp from long, long, long term loan (cheers Cos!).

It's not all fun though, I still had to do some work which involved the Grand Opening of a power station by some some bloke sporting a black eye and some old doris with a crown on her hard hat.

It's a sad day but my beloved old vintage Marshall has to go. The wonderfully clean 50 watt Artiste head from 1974 and the 1960s 4X12 fully Celestion loaded angle cab now take up too much room for something that doesn't get played anymore. If anyone knows of someone who'll give a good home to a piece of history, and are willing to give me a sensible price, let me know before she goes on e-bay.

A marvellous place with tiny roads, no road signs and a suprising number of bands for such a small island. Where they still use 1 pound notes and cigarettes are cheap as chips. Met loads of nice people and drank far too much but they have invited me back next year so I must have done something right.
